Do you use torrents? If you do then you’ve seen most of the movies and television shows in Xvid format. This is a new codec that is gaining phenomenon and overtaking DiVx as the preffered codec for video sharing. The only downside is there is not a version of the codec for Mac. Windows and Linux users can download the files required but Mac users are not included on Xvid website. I performed some Google searches and found this site that has a 5kb plugin and requires that you install the latest version of Quicktime and DiVx. You can follow the instructions to add this to your Quicktime plugins folder and now Xvid videos play perfectly!
