Users of social networks receive dozens, if not hundreds of friend requests, notes, recommendations and other tidbits via email or text from the hundreds of social networking website on the Internet. This amount of clutter has been coined as, “BACN.”

BACN is “the term given to electronic messages which have been subscribed to and are therefore not unsolicited but are often unread by the recipient for a long period of time, if at all. Bacn has been described as “email you want but not right now.”

There’s a folder in my Gmail inbox called “BACN” and I have rules created that send mail from Facebook, Myspace, Orkut, Virb, Twitter and comments on my blog. I go through this folder occasionally which, to me, is only once per day and filter through messages.

Create your own BACN folder because the amount of time your iPhone buzzes will save you a lot of time each day.
