Macworld 2008 Advertising Pricing [UPDATED]
We've sold out of many of the advertising slots that we once had. Please see below for any sections listed "SOLD OUT" in bold.
The week of Macworld is DailyTechTalk's largest week for traffic. Since Macworld SF 2004, we've brought daily coverage to our readers in the form of articles, photos, videos and podcasts. Last year, we had 32,000 unique visitors in the month of January. 85% of those visitors were during Macworld week alone.
We're extremely excited to announce that, due to the large amount of traffic during the week of Macworld, DailyTechTalk will be adding a 24/7 lifecast to this year's coverage, courtesy of Justin.tv. Please read on for our 2008 Macworld advertising prices and guidelines!
Purchased ads will appear on every page of DailyTechTalk.com and MacworldBound.com, and in the same location from page to page.
Every dollar earned on advertising is put towards flying the team to San Francisco, booking parties and providing top-notch coverage to our readers.
Go to DailyTechTalk.com to review the ad locations and various pricing plans associated with these sections.
*Ads should be submitted as a GIF or JPEG files and should not exceed 20K.
Image Based Ads
SOLD OUT!468x60: Two areas are at the top of every page. These are the first ads everyone sees when they view the site.
200x200: Two spots are available on the right, above the 'Connect With Us' links. They will be presented above one another, at the top of that sidebar.
468x60 and 768x90: One of each is available at the bottom of the site. They are available for a great price, and I can assure you that these ads were heavily clicked last year, despite their location. DailyTechTalk is updating 10-20 times a day so the bottom of the page is viewed often.
Text Based Ads
Text ads are available for purchase in limited quantities.
Our live keynote coverage will contain spaces for 5 companies to place their ads within the text-based keynote transcript. Roughly every 20 minutes, during Steve's keynote, DailyTechTalk will link to a sponsor. The format will be, 'Thanks to [Your Company Name] for sponsoring DailyTechTalk's keynote coverage.' (with a link to your company's website).
SOLD OUT!Or you may simply have a link to your company's website at the bottom of each article posted on DailyTechTalk.com during the week of Macworld coverage.
Friends and Family Sponsorship
Introduced for Macworld 2007, this was our most successful advertising option in our five-year history of Macworld coverage. For a small price, you'll receive special placement on DailyTechTalk's Friends and Family page. The F&F; page is linked to from every article on DailyTechTalk.com, beginning the day before Macworld and ending when we arrive home. That means you'll have 7 days of exposure. During Macworld 07, the F&F; page received 7,000 views. You can view last year's page athttp://dailytechtalk.com/sponsors.php The price is right, and all participants are allowed a link to their site, placement of their logo, and a line about their website or business.
SOLD OUT!Event Sponsorship
The Macworld Event Sponsorship is reserved for only one lucky advertiser. It is the most valued of any of our packages. There's so much to this package, that we've broken it down to showcase just how much you'll get out of this sponsorship:
468x60 banner ad at the top of DTT for the entire month of January.
200x200 ad on DTT for the entire month of January.
One sentence mention and link to your company's website on every article of DailyTechTalk.com for the entire week of Macworld.
Your company's logo and mention on our MWSF t-shirts and community events' flyers and information.
Mention during the beginning of our daily Macworld podcast.
Daily mention on our 24/7 Justin.tv stream, during the week of Macworld.
Editorial showcasing your company in the form of an interview on DailyTechTalk, the day before Macworld begins.
This is the best deal to promote your company, and it will greatly improve your Google Page Rank.

DailyTechTalk Ad Guidelines 2008
DailyTechTalk Ad Guidelines 2008
Thanks for your interest in DTT for advertising. We have compiled ad guidelines below that reflect industry standards to offer a fair and standard ad guideline for all advertisers on DailyTechTalk.com
- All banner and text ads must meet size requirements set by DTT administrators
o Horizontal banners = 468x60 / 768x90 / 200x200
o Text ads must be no longer than 10 words
- All advertisers must adhere to an all ages guideline on ads and links
o No Profanity
o Nudity
o Or any adult content not suitable for all ages
- DTT will not allow ads to link to sites displaying adult or explicit content not suitable for all ages
- DTT accepts advertising of all subject matter deemed acceptable for our audience. However, advertiser content can be removed at any time if DTT and its affiliates deem the linked to content negatively affects or portrays DTT.
- All payments made are final if all aspects of the contract are fulfilled.
- If any part of the contract is broken
o Money will be refunded on a per offense basis
o The ad campaign will stop prematurely and a refund will be issued on a per advertising basis
- DTT has the right to deny any potential client of advertising space based on these guidelines.
To summarize, as long as the advertiser fulfills space requirements, DTT receives payment before due date and does not in any way expose the reader to content that is not suitable for all ages, DTT will be forced to end a campaign and possibly refund money depending on length of campaign completion and terms of contract. Each advertiser has a unique contract created for each campaign and both parties are upheld to their own terms.
