ITunes 4.5 the features that are missing
There are two things that have not been changed since the first two version of iTunes. This is not a rant just an open call to Apple to add two features I have requested for the longest time. For one, the iTunes visualizer has not been changed since version 2. I was hoping to see a visualizer manager and SDK for developers as well as more visuals in iTunes 3. Instead there have been three major updates and yet no visualizer. I would had done without Party Shuffle if I could have had another visualizer. Sure, there are others out there but they suck. Apple makes the best ones so we want more.
Secondly is how music is organized. When your library hits 5000 songs, as mine has, there needs to be a feature you can turn on and off to organize your music more easily. In the top bar of the library there is customizable sort area; Song, artist, Album, Genre, Time, Etc. You can add sort criteria to this by hitting command+J. What if Apple added a second bar? For example, you can sort by year and you go down to 2004. In the second bar you sort by artist; so with music in 2004, they are organized by artist. For start you would have Black Eyed Peas, then Coldplays Exlusive iTMS tracks and so on. Or you can organize by Genre then Album. So you go to Pop, Baby one more time is first, then *NSYNC, then 98 Degrees and Rising. This is just an example but you see where I am going with this. Of course you can use the browse button now to just show pop or just show an artist then use the sort bar to sort it how you please, but it would be nice to have two sort criteria and the ability to turn it off when it is not needed.
