The BBC still hates Vista
I came across this story today, and it made me laugh..
The BBC's Business Editor, Robert Preston, initially wrote a scathing column about his first experiences using Windows Vista. However, he's decided to do the decent thing - sit back, evaluate it, get used to the new way of working, then give his carefully considered opinion.

He takes particular issue with Microsoft's choice to make you enter your password every single time you check your mail unless you pay to upgrade to the latest version of Office. As a Mac user I find the thinking behind this hard to reason.
According to a Microsoft spokesperson:
This was a difficult deliberate choice. During the development of Vista, it was discovered that the password storage algorithm used by Outlook was too weak to protect your data from future, potential attacks. Both the security and application compatibility teams decided that protecting your data outweighed the inconvenience of having to retype your passwords. As the appcompat representative, I can assure you this was not a decision we took lightly
Boy, when Microsoft gets it wrong, they really get it wrong, don't they? Still, it's all good news for Apple. Maybe this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Like thousands of other people are already doing, maybe it's about time Mr Preston simply cut his losses with Vista and got a Mac instead?
