My 2000th Twitter Update and an iPod Shuffle Giveaway!
I twittered for the 2000th time today. This is huge and really proves how revolutionary micro-blogging is. I began in late March and have posted between 10 and 140 characters into my Twitter account two thousand times in about two months and 15 days. The beauty of Twitter is that it only asks "what I'm doing" and all I do is post exactly that. Where a full blog sometimes forces you to take time out and really put things together, Twittering is simple and fast! Even my girlfriend is using it! Another aspect of Twitter that encourages me to update is how accessible it is. I can Twitter via SMS text, AOL Instant Messenger, Jabber, web site and mobile WAP site (on my Palm Treo). I can Twitter from anywhere that has cell phone signal or an Internet connection so it promotes me to type what I'm doing.
Twitter has helped me make new friends, find local Mac users and organized events. I've bought and sold items through Twitter, increased the amount of people that know about my sites and used it to announce live podcasts. Most importantly, I've even landed a few side gigs for through this network. The community is great and that's what makes twittering so amazing.
