Yes you can trust overseas buyers
Ive been burned more than once by overseas transactions involving electronics. I once sold a camera to someone overseas, they said that they didnt receive it and got their money back. Ive bought things through eBay for items overseas and when I didnt get it, I did get my money back but it was a lot of work. After a few bad transactions I decided to go for the jump again. I was contacted by a guy from France that offered to purchase an iPhone from me for $1300 dollars plus whatever shipping fees incurred to get it to him as fast as possible.

I took this bid since it meant that I would be getting an iPhone for myself at absolutely no cost. I wrote up a contract with a lawyer and sent it to the gentlemen. He signed it and sent it back and sent the money over Paypal. The document meant that both parties agreed that there would be no returns and he signed off the address he wanted it sent and it matched he address on his Paypal account. His eBay account had hundreds of transactions with 100% positive feedback and his email address found him on a few websites and all seemed to be positive. He gladly gave me his phone number and iChat address. Everything was great and the address he gave me was verified with France police as the address of this gentlemen.
I dumped the money into my bank account and bought both iPhones with the money. I sent him the invoice for shipping the iPhone unopened to France and he immediately sent the money for this device. Im getting ahead a bit and wanted to point out that he also sent multiple emails with follow-ups about iPhone news he had read and watched our iPhone coverage live on DTT. After the week of knowing this guy, it was a positive relationship that had been formed. My last email from him was a sincere thanks for working with me and engaging in a professional approach to a high dollar sale and he said that I could buy anything through him that was only available in France if I ever called upon him.
The package will be delivered to him on Wednesday and hell be responsible for discovering how to unlock the iPhone. I am not responsible from here on and even Paypal says that he cant say that he never received the item or was unsatisfied because there was not an eBay auction associated with this transaction. Im all in the clear and its on him at this point. Im sure that there wont be any more issues with the transaction from here on. I just hope the guy can unlock the phone successfully and is not stuck with the unit. He wanted to be the first iPhone owner in France and now he is. I just wanted to ask you guys if there are any other dangers with doing this or any iPhone unlocking sites that you have found? Im also curious about your experiences with overseas sales and how youve been screwed over, essentially.
