Macworld: Official DTT MWSF08 Introductions (Adam Jackson)
As of this writing we have 115 days until Macworld San Francisco 2008! Those of you that have been reading my blog since 2004 know damn well that this is the time of year that I begin to go Macworld crazy. I get the itch around September 10th and that itch continues until I leave SFO and head back home. Its a disease I must admit. I didnt plan on going this year but I just cant imagine not attending my favorite conference in my favorite city. Theres always a place in my heart for San Francisco and meeting friends, learning new things and seeing Steve Jobs live makes for the best vacation of the year.

I began attending Macworld in 2003 at MWNY and in a 12 month period attended MWSF04 and MW Boston in 04. Im glad I was able to attend the last year in Boston. It was a sad expo but a huge part of the Mac back in the day. Im still sad that theres not an east coast show. That aside, Ive attended every Macworld since then (6 in all) and this will be my 7th show.
Anyway, so its that time again when I begin to make travel arrangements, get special discounts for our readers and plan coverage, parties and entertainment. Ive warned everyone that follows me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/adamjackson) that if they arent Mac fans then this is a fair warning that its about to get crazy until January with all of the Macworld discussions. Starting in early October, the sites logo will change, Laura (advertising and chief designer) and I will be designing t-shirts and promotional PDFs for all parties and events and Ill begin making announcements of all of our parties.
So what do you want to see from us? If youre not attending, please email or comment to let us know what kind of coverage you would like to see. If youll be at Macworld or are planning to attend, just send me an email with any questions that you have. Ive helped a lot of first timers get to Macworld on the cheap and Ive directed them to some great parties and helped those individuals get some great deals on conference passes. I encourage you guys to email me at our special address: [email protected] for all Macworld related inquiries.
Sponsorship: Ill be publishing this years prices for sponsorships. Last years Friends & Family sponsor program was a huge success and we have weekly / monthly text and image based sponsorships as well as the best deal which is the Event Sponsorship which gets your companys name and logo on every article, flyer and party media that we post / hand out. More on that as the time comes or as I get time to post it.
So far, Im going to go by last years Macworld schedule for our events. Things are subject to change but here is the schedule.
- Sunday: Fourth annual city tour of San Francisco
- Monday: Trip to Apple HQ / DTT Meet up (unknown location)
- Tuesday: Keynote day and Ill be attending someone elses party Im sure
- Wednesday: The fourth annual DailyTechTalk Macworld Party
- Thursday: A night to myself
- Friday: Macworld farewell meet up at a lounge / dinner somewhere
Its going to be a busy week. Last year, we did the Apple HQ trip on Thursday which worked out pretty well. I have a lot to do for preparing for this trip and Im not going to post links to our official airline sponsor or hotel sponsor yet but expect that in the coming weeks.
