Wow, so I subscribe to 12 magazines. Every birthday I ask family members to subscribe me to a magazine. Ones that dont get renewed by family members, I subscribe to myself. I think I would be the person to ask if you needed a recommendation for a magazine. Now, opinions may vary. So take my advice and go to the largest bookseller in your area, and pick up all of them, spend a few hours there and thumb through them. Get one that you like. Next month do it again. If you like that same one, again, then subscribe. That is the best way. Or subscribe to two magazines. It is up to you.
Of course all of these are aimed at different users. My favorite magazine is Macworld UK. The editorials are great, and the reviews are thorough. If you have never seen a UK magazine, you should. The format is much larger, and the paper seems thicker. UK magazines come at a price, though. They are 11-15 dollars a copy at the newsstand. So, you might want to subscribe if you want a better deal.
I have listed my magazines and what market they are aimed towards. It is all about your preferences. Whatever you want to use. Go out, and find a magazine. They are also fun to look back on even a year in the past. It is interesting how fast things change. There are also digital magazines. A lot of companies are letting your subscribe via a new format called Zinio. I have a sample Macworld magazine in Zinio format. It is really nice. You get the entire magazine, and you can view it on your screen. There are zoom tools, and when you turn pages the page flips like magic. Usually zinio subscriptions are cheaper too, and all of the conservationists can help save paper.
