Yahoo announced on Thursday that email users of the Internet company will have access to their email with just their username and without entering a password.
The US company said on its official blog that the new mail access without a password allows users to authenticate any device simply by using their smart phones. The company announced Thursday also a new version of its mobile email that includes a tool for finding messages and contacts.
And for the first time, users of Yahoo e-mail can use the service to access their accounts from AOL and Hotmail.
Email is one of Yahoo’s most popular products since its launch in the 90s. “This month marks the 18th anniversary of Yahoo e-mail and we are celebrating the occasion with a new application that is fast, intuitive and beautiful” the company said in its blog.
The company said the new application, which has been completely redesigned, more powerful but still easy to use. The company revealed this week that most of Yahoo emails are already using mobile devices.
